The caterpillar process

We have been working on our book on the development of a butterfly. We used the book The very Hungry Caterpillar to base our learning and projects.
We saw how the little egg lays on a green leaf. We then painted a green leaf and glued a white pompom.  We made a caterpillar out of pompoms. We painted paper rolls for the cocoon. We painted coffee filters with watercolors for the butterfly.

Health month in our class

We had a few different fun visitors for health month.
We had a visit from a dentist. We learned that we need to brush our teeth in the morning and at night. We liked playing with her toy crocodile and practiced brushing his teeth.

Thank you to Elana's mom for coming and playing a vegetable game. Then we made a smiley face salad.

Thank you Maddie's mom for making yogurt and fruit smoothie with us.

Pesach

We learned that the Jewish people made matzah when they left Mitzrayim/Egypt, because it is really fast to make and they were in a hurry. So we experimented on our own. We made challah and saw how it took so many ingredients and took so much time to make. Then we made matzah and saw how quick it is to make.
We really enjoyed our trip to the Model Matzah Bakery!

Pizza shop trip

Our class had so much fun going to the Pizza shop and making our very own pizzas. We got to experience the steps of patting and flattening the dough, adding the sauce and cheese, carrying it to the pizza man to put in the oven, and finally, eating it!

Literacy month has come to Prenursery!

Thank you Madeleine, Levi, and Elana's moms for coming and reading a book to the class. The children were so excited to share a book from home with their friends.
If anyone else is interested, please feel free to email me. And we also welcome Dads and grandparents.

We went to the Public Library today. We had a reading circle with Librarian Sophia and she showed us around the library.
